The Camden – Kings Bay Council of the Navy League ofthe United States supports the commands and the men and women of the sea services and their families stationed at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia.

Our monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month (September thru June) at the Kings Bay Conference Center and feature a guest speaker who updates the community on local or national military concerns, challenges and successes. We have hosted Admiral Mike Mullen, recently retired Joint Chiefs Chairman; ADM Jonathan W. Greenert, Chief of Naval Operations; RADM Joseph Mulloy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Budget; and Commanders of Submarine Group 10 and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

We have also had the opportunity to host the officers and crew of visiting British SSBN HMS Victorious and the fast attack sub HMS Trafalgar, and participated in the annual celebration of Trafalgar Night with HMS Vengeance.

We have proudly been involved in the commissioning or return-to-service of USS FLORIDA, USS GEORGIA, USCG SEA DOG, and USCG SEA DRAGON, and have adopted Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay and, by extension, all of its commands, USS GEORGIA and USCGC SEA DOG.

Our Council is a founding member of the Camden County community program EDICCIMAD (Every Day In Camden County Is Military Appreciation Day) and supports Operation Paperback, which packages and delivers paperback books to service members serving overseas. Annually, we collect personal care supplies and deliver them to the Veteran’s Hospital in Dublin, GA, as well as collect and distribute food coupons to local military families.

Our signature events include the Toys for Tots Brunch in December and our Sea Services Personnel of the Year Awards Banquet in May. We sponsor and participate in base and submarine tours, change of command ceremonies, boat welcoming and departure parties, the Silver & Gold Dolphin Auction, the Submarine Officers Birthday Ball, the Navy Ball, the Marine Corps Ball, the Enlisted Submarine Ball and other interesting, exciting and educational events. Dues-paying members of our Council are granted “guest” status by the base Commanding Officer, and may obtain Base ID cards granting them access to the base to include the Bowling Alley, Gymnasium and Pool (normal fees for use are charged).

We consistently earn Outstanding or Meritorious Council recognition from the national Navy League, and have been honored for both our website and our newsletter, The Trident.

Members of the Navy League of the United States residing in greater Camden County, Georgia are invited to join our Council. Local dues for an individual are $20.00 per year; $30.00 for Husband & Wife; $180.00 for Lifetime Local individual membership; and, $240.00 for Lifetime Local Husband & Wife membership. All national Active Duty Spouses are given complimentary membership in our Council. Local dues help support our ongoing programs and services in support of the men and women of the sea services. Our local membership application is available here.
