1. What is the mission of the Navy League of the United States?
The Navy League of the United States has three missions: to enhance the morale of active duty personnel and their families; to inform Congress and the American public on the importance of strong sea services; and to support youth through programs such as the Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Junior ROTC and Young Marines that expose young people to the values of our sea services.

The mission of the Camden - Kings Bay Council is to support the men and women of the sea services assigned to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay and it's tenant commands.
3. What does it cost and how do I join the Navy League of the United States?
Any American citizen interested in sea power or supporting our sea services (US Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marine) is eligible for membership. Active duty military are not eligible for membership, but their spouses and families are eligible.
Membership fees:
Regular individual membership (one year) - $50
Regular individual membership (two years) - $90
Regular individual membership (three years) - $125
Husband/Wife joint membership - $85
Life membership - $500
Husband/wife joint life membership - $750
Active duty spouse - $30

4. What is Community Affiliate membership and how much does that cost?
Community Affiliate membership allows local businesses to visibly support programs that are important to the communities they serve. Community Affiliates receive:
- Community and National Recognition: Community Affiliates belong to one of the most active and widely respected associations in the country representing "Citizens in Support of the Sea Services."
- A handsome and suitably engraved Community Affiliate Plaque that you can proudly hang for your clients or patrons to see.
- Four (4) regular individual memberships, each of whom will receive the full array of national and local Navy League member benefits.
Community Affiliate membership costs $400 per year. To sign up, complete, print and mail theCommunity Affiliate Application, or contact the Member Services Center at (800) 356-5760.
5. What does it cost and how do I join the Camden - Kings Bay Council?
Members in good standing of the Navy League of the United States are invited to join the Camden - Kings Bay Council. Local Council membership dues are:
Individual:
One year at $20.00
Two years at $36.00
Three years at $50.00
Life Local Membership at $180.00*
Husband/Wife:
One year at $30.00
Two years at $55.00
Husband & Wife: Three years at $80.00
Life Husband & Wife Local Membership at $240.00*

Active Duty Spouses of the national Navy League receive complementary membership in the local Council. To join, complete and return the Camden - Kings Bay Council Membership Application, or contact VP for Membership Greg Glaz.
6. What are the benefits of joining the Camden - Kings Bay Council?
In addition to benefits available to all Navy League members, local membership offers opportunities for involvement in special events such as base and submarine tours, change of command ceremonies, boat welcoming parties, the annual Silver & Gold Dolphin Auction, the annual Submarine Officer’s Birthday Ball, monthly dinner meetings and other interesting, exciting and educational events. Local members are extended "guest" status by Naval Submarine Bay Kings Bay, and can apply for a Subase ID and vehicle stickers which allow access to the upper base, including the bowling alley, gym, swimming pool, and chapel. (Normal fees apply)
7. Can I join the Camden - Kings Bay Council without joining the national Navy League?
No, you must be a member of the national Navy League before you can join the local Council.
8. How do I apply for base privileges?
To apply for base privileges, members in good standing of the local Council must first complete, have witnessed and return the Consent Form authorizing a background check. After you have been advised that the background check has been completed, stop by the Base Pass & ID Office outside the Stimson Gate (junction of Kings Bay Rd and Charlie Smith Hwy). Bring a photo ID, car registration and proof of insurance. Tell the clerk you are with the Navy League and they’ll take good care of you.
Base Pass & ID Office hours are:
0700 - 1600 Monday - Thursday
0800 - 1600 Friday
0900 - 1400 Saturday/Sunday/Holidays
9. How often do I have to renew my base privileges?
The background check and your base privileges expire on your local Council membership anniversary each year. Approximately one month prior to your local membership expiration date you must complete, have witnessed and return a new Consent Form to Base Security. Of course, you must also renew your membership in the national Navy League and in the local Council to renew your base privileges.

Our ability to fulfill our mission is limited only by our volunteer resources. We are constantly in need of volunteers to help with our regular dinner meetings, our special projects, membership recruitment and retention, and other activities in support of the men and women of the sea services.
