Welcome to the Camden-Kings Bay Navy League Council
Special Event: Our Guest Speaker will be CDR Burnes Brown, Commanding Officer of the USS South Dakota (SSN-790) March 14, 2024 Camden-Kings Bay Council Navy League Dinner Meeting at the Triplex onboard the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base Recognition of Kings Bay Enlisted Persons of the Quarter is also on the agenda The USS South Dakota (SSN-790) was Commissioned on February 2, 2019. “SSN” attack submarines are designed for a broad spectrum of open-ocean and littoral missions, including anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare and intelligence gathering operations. The Virginia-class is the United States’ newest submarine, fielding many of the new technologies that will be used on the Columbia-class that will be homeported here later this decade. South Dakota and her sister boats are the “apex predators” of today’s oceans and critical in any conflict with a peer competitor. The March 14 dinner will return the Council to the Triplex onboard the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base. Social hour at 5:30 (1730) and dinner at 6:30 (18:30). The cost is $30 per person, with a delicious buffet prepared by Brimley’s Catering featuring roasted chicken, carved brisket, veggies, trimmings and strawberry cheesecake! Reservations are needed by Thursday, March 7.
