Let's Show Our Support for Veterans

During Their Stays at the Medical Center in Lake City!!

December 5th will be your Council's annual VA trip to Lake City. For the 2nd year we are excited to be able to purchase 150 Holiday Totes that the volunteers will fill with collected donations for each Veteran. We could not provide the totes without the generous monetary donations from our members. THANK YOU!

When you're out shopping, please consider picking up an item or two from the "wish list". Also, Hobby Lobby gift cards are a new item on the wish list. These gift cards are used to fund special projects Veterans will make within their Art therapy treatment. If you are unable to shop but would like to support, let Jeannie & Cheryl do the shopping for you!  Please send checks to our Council Treasurer by December 1st or on the Council website, Click Here.

Our Council is very fortunate to have a request on the wish list already donated! The St. Mary's Garden Club has graciously agreed to donate gardening supplies for the Hospice patio: potting soil, pots of various sizes and a watering can. A volunteer at the clinic maintains a beautiful patio filled with plants for the families to have a place of peace. If you know a member of this Club, please be sure to thank them!

Preperations for the November 9th Dinner Meeting

Our Board members are preparing for the Annual VA trip on December 5th. On your dinner tables, there will be baskets of Holiday cards for you to fill out & sign that will be included with the donations that are collected & delivered to our Veteran’s. We normally only do the “card signing” at our annual Toys for Tots brunch, but wanted to give all members an opportunity to sign cards who might not otherwise attend the brunch. However, our Annual Toys for Tots brunch is an event you don’t want to miss! Invite a neighbor, bring an unwrapped gift and enjoying a delicious brunch followed by an exciting "mini auction" & bid on some wonderful holiday gift items!

We will also have a collection box at this dinner event for you to bring any VA donations (see wish list in article) or cash/checks if you want Jeannie & Cheryl to do the shopping for you! We appreciate your continued support of our Veterans!
Take a chance on winning this beautiful Fall Wreath for your door! Tickets are 1 for $2.00 or 3 tickets for $5.00. Proceeds go directly in support of our Veteran's Fund! Drawing will take place at the November 9th dinner event. Do not need to be present to win, but may increase your chances!
